why more men should be like mayer hawthorne:

Let’s start with the superficial and work our way to the emotional meat & potatoes, shall we?

1. He’s sharp. Even if it’s just nice jeans and a clean polo shirt, the man always looks put together with ease and confidence. Here’s a guy who could probably wear a star wars shirt and old fashioned slacks, and it’d work. Swagger for daaaaaaaays.

2. He’s a gentleman. He’s got a kind demeanor and is respectful of others. Polite, confident, and a real charmer to boot.

3. He’s refreshingly old fashioned. (I’ll admit, I knicked that term off of a guy who called me that..but it applies!) He says things like “how do you do?” and likes to spend his down time in record shops, his clothes are a mix of the past and future. He’s living in the present, but appreciates the past. Kind of like a Fiat 500 or something. Looks like a car from the past, but still has that new car smell and without the worry of it breaking down.

4. Judging by his lyrics, he’s a softie with a good backbone. Not afraid to say “I love you” but strong enough to tell you when there’s something wrong. An honest kind of guy, who you’d want to bring home to meet mom & dad. Appreciative and caring, sensitive and smart. The kind of guy that you’d want to cook dinner for every night! (Though he wouldn’t force you to, and would probably wash the dishes.)

5. Shit. I think I’ve run out of things. Charming, adorable, funny, driven, talented, kind, dapper..check.

So, in short..if you know this guy, get me in touch? Or at least take a few pointers for yourself! xo

Love,

Elle
